Co operative Learning in 1B

On Monday, the staff had a full day training day on the Kagan model for co operative learning. It's much more than working in groups! In our classroom we have made a few changes to the way we do things. The children are learning a whole new way of saying "WELL DONE!". Ask them about the brain kiss, the firecracker or perhaps the sparkles!
The children now have a home group table at which they will sit for the next 3 weeks. The person next to them is their shoulder partner, the person opposite, their face partner.
Our spelling session this morning was a chance to trial some of the structures promoted by the Kagan model.
